Very communicative throughout. Very nice. Got multiple fixes/repairs/replacements done very quickly, way ahead of estimated time frame. AND, I had a broken inner-door door handle linkage piece (for general terms) that a local body shop quoted me would cost over $920 to fix. Car Tech was able to do it for $355. So, definitely recommend. 5 ++ stars!

These guys are my guys! These are THE GUYS! They do great, reliable work at very good prices. I've done several road trips and always have them tune up or inspect my car before I take off to make sure its safe and I got nothing to worry about so I can actually enjoy my road trips. I've also had them put a new engine in my car when the last one failed. They shopped around for me and got me a good deal. Theyve also put up with me panicking about every little light that pops up on my finicky but functioning Subaru's dashboard. Theyre always willing to check the lights and codes for me and let me know whats going on with my car even if its not an emergency. I appreciate the peace of mind! Also, I recently got hit by 2 deer and they replaced my headlight for me and worked most of the dent out even tho theyre not a bodyshop, they did what they could. We took our truck to Car Tech Automotive and Diagnostics to have our A/C fixed. It had been 'fixed' at home in Florida but stopped working when we arrived here. We took it to another place and they completely misdiagnosed the problem. When we got to Car Tech they found the real problem and fixed it in a few hours and for less than half of what the other place estimated. We highly recommend them. They are nice, pleasant, and efficient. I wish there was a place like this at home in Florida.

Update 5/21/24 - the shop is under new ownership now but will continue to take all my vehicles here for maintenance and repairs.

Mark, Brian, and the entire crew at Car Tech are why we will continue to bring our business to the shop. They're experts at their work. They'll give you fair pricing. And they'll be honest about what they can do - and in a pinch, give you time they don't have. I was in a real bind today when a misfire code showed I had a spark plug issue. Even though they really couldn't fit me in, they knew I needed a reliable vehicle ASAP to see family. They ordered the spark plug and had me on my way within the hour. Mark then informed me that I would *NOT* be driving anywhere else until I got an oil change - from a competitor who had time today. 'It's do it now or pay for a new motor later,' he said with a look and tone that brooked no argument. (He kind of reminds me of my dad when I'm in trouble.) Needless to say, I'm waiting to hear that's done next. I love a business that's all about supporting their people, not just the bottom line. We're customers for life!

I was traveling 400 miles on my first trip in my new to me sprinter van when I had some codes pop up and the smell of fuel in the cab half way through. Even though the guys at car tech were booked for weeks they squeezed me in to look at my van and thankfully fix my fuel leak. They were very caring and reasonably priced. They even went out of their way to call to see if I made it safely to my destination and if my van was still causing problems. Good people who care and will take care of you.

This is the best shop I have ever gone to. I'll break down my recent experience to detail why. My car broke down at 530 on Friday. The tow truck driver said Firestone is open. Get the car towed there and they said to fix the ignition it'll be 914 bucks. I said no thank you and went to car tech. Mike said he has a locksmith friend that may be able to fix it. They did! And for 250! I call it mikes magic. The whole shop is friendly and basically an extension of family

I would highly recommend this place. Mike squeezed me in even though he was booked because we were traveling in 100 degree heat and our AC was out. He and his lady partner, who works the front end of the business, were both warm and welcoming and had lots of helpful information to share about the area. They were a joy to be around while I waited in their spacious and comfortable 'living room' type waiting area for my car to get finished up. It felt like a visit with friends vrs the normal drab experience of waiting for one's car in an auto shop. Ps-- loved the artful display on your pop machine, the beautiful plants, cool handmade art on the walls and the ample furniture to sit in! I was also very impressed that It appeared that Mike helped others who came in, in varying degrees of distress with their cars even though he was booked and I continued to hear them make appointments over the phone for over a week out. They were an example of exemplary customer service and of just being great human beings! Thank you both so much!

June 2019: This place seems special. Recently moved to GJ and have been to several mechs, but Car Tech seems like my new go-to. From Brian at the front desk to Mike (owner) in the back with the rest of his help (including his dog), this place is what a mech shop should be. Can tell they bend over backwards for the customer and the employees seem like that want to be there. Will edit this review as time goes by, but like I said, this place seems special. June 2020: have been doing regular and emergency maintenance with these guys and they are AWESOME. My jeep makes a weird noise, so they bring me back to look at what's causing it. Tell me exactly what need to be fixed and will actually let me watch the repairs! Don't look anywhere else; hands down the best shop in town.

Finally found the real deal spot! No gimmicks and no BS! Definitely want to bring your vehicles here for professional service. My cars AC compressor blew out and ripped the serpentine belt. When my truck was having problems, I was quoted $2,000-4,000 from the dealership to repair the oil pump. I was referred to Car Tech by a friend. This place is fantastic. We were traveling on a road trip when our car developed a concerning noise near Grand Junction. We called Car Tech and they were able to diagnose the problem over the phone, then made time from their schedule to check out our car the moment we got to their shop. They helped secure us a rental car while they fixed the problem, and since we were planning to return on a Saturday to pick up the vehicle, Mike (the owner) left us his personal cell phone # and came to the shop on his day off so that we could get our car and continue on our road trip as scheduled. We had the motor on a radiator cooling fan stall out in our Chevy Tracker while on top of an 11,400-ft mountain behind Pitkin for our summer alpine treat. When my car died today (Friday), I was panicked. I have six appointments, including doctor's appts. for my disabled spouse on Monday. And, I was worried about making it to church on Sunday. Car Tech stayed extra long, did excellent work, and even had a family member pick me up from home, since I had no way to make it out to the shop over and above Uber or a cab. Over the top incredible. We broke down on holidays and these guys bent over backwards to get us back on the road. Extremely fair and honest. Very knowledgable and good at what they do. Because it was an older VW Vanagon with some conversion parts and the only transmission that could be located was a different model they were able to fabricate some parts to get us back on the road. After reading the positive reviews about Car Tech on Google, I decided to go there and had the best experience! I was treated very, VERY well, everyone was incredibly kind. It turned out my fuel pump failed, and Mike took it upon him to find the best option for me. Not only were they incredibly helpful in office, but I was also given a ride to and from my apartment when my car was ready-- not expecting that! Before leaving, they also made sure everything in my car was good to go. I was also given an estimate for another part of my car that needed work, but they were not pushy or intimidating about getting it fixed, which was much appreciated. Will definitely be back!!

Then when I had already authorized the work, they called in the middle saying the brakes weren't that bad at all and didn't need changing yet. They could've made $400 but instead were honest with me. One cold winter day, i didnt have the time or place to do the fxing so i decided to tow my truck to the nearest shop.. and closest place was car Tech. We were on the road from Orange County, Ca. heading towards Fort Collins, Co. The car had over heated a number of times between Orange County and Grand Junction. We had worked with a Mechanic in Cedar City and Green River, that after spending quite a bit, the problem persisted. We found Car Tech through a referral from another mechanic. When we pulled in they were very friendly and ran a full diagnostic, unable to find the problem. They took it out a tough road test and finally found the problem, a blown head gasket. Now we were stuck and my Daughter and I needed to get to Fort Collins. I called some friends to come get us and they stayed open until out friends arrived, well after closing. They promised the car in a week. My daughter has school Monday through Friday, so she had to pick it on a Saturday. Mike agreed to come in himself and meet her. They kept us informed on what was happening with the vehicle. After a road test on Friday before the pick up, they found an oil leak due to the repair and stayed until 8:30pm to fix it. This group goes to the extreme to make things right and I recommend them to anyone.

So long story short my car was smelling like gas (everywhere inside and outside) i called these guys up and Mike (i think that was his name) told us to take the car in. Passing through town and needed an oil change. Called Mike and was told that I could just swing in and he would make sure all was ready so that I could be in and out quickly. They did an inspection of the brakes and found the rears needed replaced. I knew that they were close and had them do the work. Since it was going to take a couple hours, he dropped my wife and I off on Main Street downtown to do some shopping and get some lunch. You just don't see people going above and beyond like this anymore. Very pleased with the price and more importantly friendly customer service. Would definitely come back if needed in the future.

I was leaving on a trip and didn't have time to diagnose an electrical problem. I called Mike and they said they'd look it over when I got to Junction. Got there, they were friendly and helpful. They drove us to our hotel while the car was being worked on--a good distance away. They came back to get me when I realized I'd left medications in my car. At that point, Mike had gone through the whole system and removed the bluetooth module, which was causing a drain on the battery. The cost was reasonable, and I haven't had a problem starting the car since--a miracle, since I'd had issues with the battery drain since last fall. If you EVER need help in Junction these are the guys to go to!
